Arn Chorn Pond discussed his experiences of having to leave his country and migrate to America. Pond was forced to leave his home because of the terrible conditions and nonstop invasions of the war. He explained that the only reason he survived the downfall of his country was the ability to play the flute. He stated that this was the only reason they kept him alive. Pond beautifully opened the presentation with a flute recital which ultimately set the tone for his speech. Today he is a renowned human rights activist that goes around sharing his unique stories. I truly admire him for his ability to leave his country due to such rash conditions and be able to form such an amazing inspiring life.
