Vanessa Hua Changing Perspective

Author Vanessa Hua a Chinese immigrant shared her story of the view that Chinese people endure while in the United States. In her novel A River of Stars, a pregnant woman attempts to navigate America with hopes to have her child be born as an American citizen. Hua furthermore explains the process of being pregnant in and the perks that come along with it. She said that would stand up for her or even offer up there chairs. She really resonated with the gracious treatment she was receiving which prompted her to consider the situation of who would be treated better if numerous pregnant women were banded together. The novel continued the theme of a lower-class woman fighting and doing everything necessary for her child to be born there. Hua’s speech allowed me to connect with many problems in society that Asian Americans go through. She was able to explain to the audience that she wanted Asian Americans to be seen in a better life. I believe the speech she gave was very effective and made me honestly think about the credulity Asian Americans go through. Moreover, she also proved to be an excellent author.
