Samantha Power

The Irish-American Samantha Power is a member of the diplomatic party and earned the position of the 28th United States Ambassador of the United Nations in 2013. Before this, she was a correspondent covering the Yugoslav Wars. In my opinion, the most impressive feat is that she was able to do all of this before the age of 50. Hearing her speak, it became obvious very fast to notice that she was a very confident woman. In her novel The Education Of An Idealist, she expresses her journey as an immigrant to becoming a president official. She also depicted her life as a battle of defining moments and the shuffling challenge of a 24/7 national security job and raising two children. I think her certainty and determination to make the world a better place is ultimately why I enjoyed seeing her so much.
