Mady Burke did an unbelievable job on her capstone project. The amount of work and dedication was fascinating to watch. It was funny because I would often time find her working on it when we were in Spanish class. Her presentation was very well done as well. A plethora of people went to her event and despite two of the three religious figures showing up late, she stayed calm and entertained the big crowd. Her idea to bring three different religious figures into one room m and talk about how they view Judaism was a very interesting concept. Each of the three speakers had very interesting points to discuss. I really thought it was interesting how the Jewish woman reacted towards her religion. She told us that she was not necessarily the most active jew, but nonetheless, that did not make her any less Jewish. She specifically talked about the day of rest in the Jewish faith. She said that she sometimes has to decide whether to rest one day of the week to follow her faith or continue working to stay up to date. I thought it was a very interesting topic. All the speakers were very prepared and entertaining. Mady did a great job presenting to her community. I am aware that it can be hard sometimes to do so. I was very proud of her, and if I were in her shoes I wouldn't have been able to do the same thing. Her fantastic event has made me excited to listen to all of the other students in the globals scholars cohort.
