Capstone Project

I was very proud of Oge and I's presentation of our capstone project. I think it went a lot better than I had imagined. All the kids seemed to be very engaged and tentative, and genuinely interested in the information we were teaching them. I am glad we took the time to prepare properly for this project. Comparing our finished presentation to what we had originally planned, I am glad we changed it. The video we originally filmed did not display the energy and excitement that needed to be shown. I also think that it did not encapsulate how happy we were to finally be presenting this project. Our first attempt of making a video a week prior was not going to convince anyone that Oge and I genuinely wanted to be presenting this project. I am very proud of us for how far we have come as Global Scholars. I am especially proud of myself for how much I have grown as a public speaker. I had to do four events this year where I needed to speak to a crowd. Each event was very tough because of my anxiety. It often time felt like I was going to forget what I was going to say, and in some cases I did. It was something I couldn't control, but after every event, I got positive comments on what I had presented. I am very happy that I had the opportunity to be a Global Scholar and learn more about myself and the world.
